Hapy 4th of July from Kiley’s Kritters
Over the next few days and couple of weeks, the sky will glow with the colors of freedom, but before the sparklers light up, we’re taking a moment to look up and see who’s already soaring above us—the bald eagle.
This mighty bird isn’t just a symbol of our country’s courage and strength. It’s a reminder of how connected we are to the rivers, forests, and open skies we share. Once on the brink, bald eagles are now a conservation success story, but their future still depends on clean water, healthy fish, and safe nesting places.
We’re lucky enough to live in an area where the bald eagle has made a comeback and can be spotted every once in a while. In fact, recently, a family of them was seen near a large freshwater lake close to us, and it felt like a gift just to watch them glide across the sky.
At Kiley’s Kritters, we believe that every creature deserves a safe home, and that includes the animals who call the sky home. As we celebrate the 4th of July, it’s the perfect time to remember what freedom means not just for us, but for the animals who depend on these wild places.
This year, we’re sharing that message through music, too! We just released a brand-new song, Soar Eagle Soar, a proud, playful anthem to remind us why it’s worth protecting the rivers, meadows, and skies that make this land so special. If you’ve ever seen a bald eagle catching the morning light on its wings, you know how it feels to stand in awe. Something powerful that will give you the chills!
🚩 A Quick Note About Fireworks
Fireworks are fun for kids, with their beautiful colors and bright displays, but please remember to be mindful of your animals and others in your neighborhood. Many dogs and other pets can become scared or panic during the loud booms and bangs. Some people, including veterans who have served our country—no matter what your politics may be—can also be sensitive to the noise fireworks bring. A little extra care can go a long way in helping everyone enjoy the day safely.
So over the next several days, while you’re enjoying family, picnics, and maybe a slice of watermelon or your favorite red, white, and blue rocket pop - take a moment to look up. Let’s remember the eagle, the symbol of freedom, and the wild spaces that need our voices to stay free. Also thank a veteran, donate to your local VFW, or one of the numerous organizations that help look after the people who have served and give back to the community.
🦅 Soar, eagle, soar—feel the freedom ride… 🦅
